Ernest Morin Obituary

Ernest J. Morin, 77, a longtime resident of South Grafton, died peacefully Tuesday, April 14, 2009 in his home, with his family by his side.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of twenty-eight years, Barbara (Zereski) Morin; four sons: Ernest E. Morin and his wife Patricia of Millbury, David A. Morin of S. Grafton, James A. Morin and his wife Kimberly of Shrewsbury and Lee T. Morin and his wife Laurie of S. Grafton; two daughters: Cheryl A. Barker and her husband James of S. Grafton and Tina M. Graham and her husband Paul of Auburn; three stepchildren: John D. Marino, Jr. and his wife Diane of Shrewsbury, Paul Marino of Upton and Nicole Marino of S. Grafton; a sister, Alda R. Dooley and her husband Joseph of Worcester; seventeen grandchildren: Christopher Morin, Michelle Hunt, Danielle Morin, Adam Barker, Stephen Barker, Nicholas Allain, Andrew Allain, Daniel Allain, Chantelle Morin, Jimmy Morin, Kalyn Morin, Connor Morin, Nadine Morin, Karen Morin, Lee Morin, Stephanie Cunningham and P.J Marino; seven great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Ernest was born on September 24, 1931 in Grafton, son of the late Armand J. and Angelina M. (Daviau) Morin. He was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the United States Army. He worked for G.N. Prunier & Sons Inc. for over ten years, before he retired. He was a member of St. James Church, S. Grafton, and of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed movies, music, and his dog "Tinker", but most of all being with his family.

The family wishes to extend its deepest appreciation to the VNA Hospice team for their devoted loving care to Ernest.

Ernest's funeral will be held Saturday, April 18th from MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. James Church, 89 Main Street, S. Grafton. Burial in Fairview Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family. You are invited to attend his visiting hours in the funeral home on Friday, April 17th from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608 or to Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301 Cincinnati, OH 45250.
