Florence Mack Obituary

Florence E. Mack, 96

Grafton - Florence E. (Popko) Mack, 96, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family and close friends on July 11, 2021. Her beloved husband of 57 years Chester Mack, passed away in 2002. She leaves her adoring family; son Thomas Mack, his wife Deborah, daughter Stephanie Mack, her life partner, David Glispin; her grandchildren, Alycia Mack Quinn, Thomas Mack, David Mack, Krystle DeCiccio, her husband, Jeffrey, Ryan Whiterell, his wife, Jessica; her great-grandchildren Rylee, Reese, Alina, Lucy and Dylan and many nieces and nephews. Florence was the last of 8 children as her siblings Helen Ryan, Jane McCarthy, Teresa Lipinski, Pauline Hultgren, Frances Daly, Alice Popko and Walter Popko all predeceased her.

Florence was born December 17, 1924 in Worcester, daughter of the late Pauline (Michalek) and Konstanty Popko. Her roots were in Auburn where she and her husband, Chester lived for many years before moving to Grafton. Florence graduated from Commerce High School and attended the Salter School. She worked as an Executive Secretary, a career perfectly suited to her meticulous nature and the grace and warmth she extended to everyone around her. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life, the gifts of her love, kindness and generosity to them are the legacy she leaves her family.

During her retirement years Florence and her husband Chester spent many memorable years on the shores of Sarasota, Florida. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and founded the Grafton Chapter. Florence was also an avid reader and a crossword puzzle enthusiast. She loved oil painting, crafting and listening to her favorite music.

Florence was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. Please honor Florence with a donation to Boys and Girls Club of America www.bgca.org. All are welcome to a graveside Remembrance service for Florence on Monday July 19th at 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Cemetery, 136 New Boston Road, Dudley, MA 01571.
