Freida E. Crowley, 89

Rochdale - Freida E. Crowley, 89, of Rochdale, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 4th at home surrounded by her loved ones. Her husband, Michael Crowley died in 2003. She leaves a daughter, Janet Hoyle and her husband, Robert of Leicester; a brother, Richard D. Brigham of Sterling; a grandson, Ian Cote of North Smithfield, RI; six great-grandchildren, Cindi, Christopher, Jessica, Olivia, Colby and Tyler; 5 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves a close friend, Judi Bashaw. She was predeceased by a son, David W. Butt in 2009; a sister, Doris Zarrella and an uncle, Carl Nyberg.

She was born in Worcester the daughter of Maurice and Gladys (Nyberg) Brigham and graduated from the former High School of Commerce. Freida worked at UMass Medical School and Hospital for over 20 years, retiring in 1990. She previously worked as an activities director at several area nursing homes and managed a card shop in Worcester. She was a devout Catholic. Freida was an accomplished painter and enjoyed crocheting, reading and spending time with her family. Her favorite pastime was planting and sitting in her garden.

Her family would like to give special thanks to Norah Ferrie for all her support and compassion during Freida's illness. They would also like to recognize Summit Elder Care for the care given to Freida over the years.

Her funeral Mass is Monday, November 20th with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Aloysius-St. Jude Church, 489 Pleasant Street. Burial will be at a later date. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to St. Aloysius – St. Jude Church, 491 Pleasant Street, Leicester, MA 01524. O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester is directing arrangements.
