Gavin Daly Obituary
Astoria, NY - Gavin Daly, 30, of Astoria, NY passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2015, after a courageous 15 month battle with fibrolamellar, a rare form of liver cancer. He was born in Derry, Ireland on February 16, 1985 and graduated from Foyle and London Derry College in 2003 with his A levels. He was married to Maureen J (Daw) Daly on July 20, 2014. Gavin had a career in the cocktail and hospitality industry working most recently at Daly's Pub in Astoria, formally Slainte in New York City, the Morgan Hotel, Fire Restaurant, Harry's on the Green in Dublin, Ireland and Revolution Bar in Manchester, England. Gavin also had a passion for baseball, especially the New York Mets, the Liverpool Football Club, playing golf, gaming, and airplanes. Gavin was a very special individual with an incredible zest for life, a caring heart, and quick wit. He brought joy to the lives of everyone he met and will be deeply missed by all. In addition to his adoring wife, he is survived by his son Eamon Gavin Robert Daly, expected to be born in a few short weeks, his parents, Kevin and Isabella (Foster) Daly of Donegal, Ireland, his father and mother-in-law Robert and Sheila Daw of Holden MA, his siblings Aaron Daly and wife Joan of Dublin, Ireland, Ruari Daly and his wife Sandy of Astoria, NY, and Katie-Louise Daly and her fiance Joshua McGarey of Hong Kong, two nieces, a nephew, and countless friends all over the world. Services were previously held in Astoria, NY. Contributions can be made in support of Gavin's son to "The Gavin Daly Memorial Fund" c/o Maureen Daly 31-37 46th Street Apt. 1 Astoria, NY 11103.

My dear Maureen.... I can only imagine the pain and sorrow you must be experiencing at the loss of Gavin. I met you with Gavin at Pitchers in Derry earlier this year. Gavin went to school with my son Robert and they were great friends. Gavin was a great guy and I am so saddened by his passing away. Thinking of you all at this most very sad time. Dear Maureen I have never met you but what Isabella and Kevin have told me you are a very special girl and Gavin and you adored each other. Your short but precious time together will live in you forever. God bless you and your little baby who will fill your heart and arms with love.
