George Tsouderos Obituary

George Tsouderos, of Westborough, MA, died Sunday, March 30. He was 77. George was born in 1930 in Volos, Greece. He arrived in the U.S. in 1963 to study electrical engineering at Lowell Tech and spent his career at Yankee Atomic Electric Company as an electrical engineer and department manager. In 1966, he fell in love with Inger Halvorsen. The two married three years later; this year they would have celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary. George and Inger had two children and four grandchildren. George was known for his zest for life and his insatiable curiosity. For years he attended classes at Worcester State, was a regular at jazz concerts in Boston, a fixture at Gold's Gym in Westborough, an avid cook, a traveler with incurable wanderlust, a voracious reader and a loving father and papou. He will be dearly missed. George is survived by his beloved wife, Inger Tsouderos; his two children: Trine Tsouderos and Danielle Emig; his two sons-in-law: Jon Yates and Jeffrey Emig; his two sisters: Mina Kogevina and Mary Iliopoulos in Greece, and his four grandchildren: Celia and Quinn Yates and Christian and Evelyn Emig. At George's request there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 1 Union St., #301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691-4183, (609) 208-0020, donate.americanheart.org. I am very sad to hear about George's passing. I felt very close to George from the moment I started to work at Yankee 29 years ago. I visited him at their home, met his wife and daughters, and remember that George had their pictures in his office; he loved his family very much. George was not only a friend but also a mentor and we spent many hours together. I will be missing George and our discussions.

I'll always remember George as my mentor at Yankee and as a close friend. Lorraine, Robyn and Amy still keep the Greek coins and other foreign coins which George would give to them after his trips.

He will be missed by us.

Very sorry to hear of George's passing. I worked with him for many years at Yankee and he was a giant in the Electrical Engineering world. But more important, he went about his work with impeccable integrity, good humor, and a great attitude every day. He will truly be missed.
