Geraldine Dobeck, 68

Clinton - Geraldine (Flanders) Dobeck, 68, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, May 14, 2021. She is survived by her best friend and beloved husband of 47 years, Barry S. Dobeck, Sr.; their children, Amy Arpano & husband Phillip A. Arpano, Sr., of Lunenburg; and Barry S. Dobeck, Jr., of Clinton; two adoring grandchildren, Maddison Arpano & Phillip A. Arpano, Jr., and honorary granddaughter, Molly Arpano, all of Lunenburg; her siblings and their spouses, Nancy Metcalf & Gary of Princeton; John Flanders & Robyn, and Jane Galeski & Dave, all of Clinton. She leaves her sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Laraine Amelotte of Bolton, Donald Dobeck & wife Pamela of Clinton, and their families; nieces, nephews, extended family, many dear friends, and her feline companion Rolo. She is pre-deceased by her brother, Richard A. "Bozo" Flanders, Jr., and nephew Jon Metcalf.

Gerry was born in Clinton, daughter of the late Richard & Marguerite (Schott) Flanders. She attended local schools and graduated from the Clinton High School, Class of 1970. In addition to raising her family, Gerry worked in the offices of several local companies including Van Brode, Lee Plastics, Bergeson's Ice Cream, and Bunzl New England, until retiring. A woman of great faith, she was a former Sunday School teacher and member of the United Church of Clinton. Always up for fun, Gerry enjoyed her trips to Mohegan Sun, Sunday afternoon card games with friends, playing Bingo, sitting poolside, and vacations to Vermont and Aruba. She was the #1 cheerleader for every sporting event or activity involving her children and grandchildren. Blessed with the gift of gab, Gerry was quick to make friends wherever she travelled. She had an artistic ability for crafts and needlework and created countless gifts for others from cross stitch to her annual Christmas ornaments. She was happiest at home entertaining family and friends or tending to her yard and rock garden. Gerry will be sorely missed and remembered lovingly by all who knew her. Calling hours will be held from 4 until 7PM on Friday, May 21, 2021 in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton. Due to social gathering restrictions, a private funeral service will be held at the United Church of Clinton. All are invited to attend a public graveside service at 11AM on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Reservoir Pines Cemetery, Clinton.
