Dearest Harold and Family,
There are no words that can express the heart felt gratitude and love of every free and protected American- to you. You made the ultimate sacrifice of your own life for all of us.
May your family and children hold dear to their hearts your deep and abiding love of them, and the honor you held for your country, at this very sad time.
Eternal peace and thanksgiving upon the many who have sacrificed their lives for all so that we may hold to our safety, peace and freedom.
May your family and children find peace, strength and hope through God's gracious mercy in prayer.

To the Brown family - I happened to be reading the T&G Obituary section yesterday, looking for the obit of a gentleman I had taken care of for the past few years in home care. I don't know what drew me to look at the flag, but I ended up reading Harold's obituary and it moved me to tears. Even though I never met him or your family, I was deeply saddened to hear of his passing. It was clear how much he did for our country. What a sacrifice and what a loss for your family! To say that we are all grateful for his dedication would be a major understatement. We love this country and appreciate each and every person who has the courage to be in the armed services to defend all of us. Our prayers are with you at this most difficult time. To the Brown Family,
I wish to extend to you my sincere condolences. I attended college at George Washington University with both Harold and Janet. Harold was my friend, my fraternity brother and knowing him was a pleasure and a privilege. We used to refer to Harold as "Joy" on occasion. It was his fraternity pledge name and whenever we did so, Harold would inevitably smile back in his good natured way. Looking back now though, the name seems rather appropriate. Harold represents everything about this country that is great. He was the best of the best, an inspiration, and truly a joy to be around. God Bless You Harold. God Bless All Who Serve This Nation and God Bless America.

I worked for Harold in England a few years ago -- always the most honest with me and I appreciated that. My condolences to Mrs. Brown and, especially, their children. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. I hugged my young children a little tighter today. Wish I could do the same for his children.
