A great scoutmaster! I was in Troop 54 in the late 1950s and early 1960's with Herb Adams as scoutmaster and the late Roger Hunt as Asst. Scoutmaster. They took the scouts on every Camporee, Treasure Valley in the summer, winter camping in Winchendon, self-initiated trips and at least one canoe trip. We hiked up Mt. Washington and camped on a Ft. Ticonderoga field. Herb Adams was an exceptional, and yet humble man. I'm so glad I stopped in to see him and Beverly in the late 1980s when I was in Worcester. He will be missed. My sincere sympathy to Beverly and the family.

Remember, "Death leaves a heartache that no one can heal, love leaves lives a memory no one can steal." It is good to know that death is not the end. The creator's promise, our loved ones will have the opportunity to live again, on an earth restored to paradise. "The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it." (Psalms 37:29) we look forward to seeing our love ones again in paradise, life without end. Draw close to our loving creator and his son Jesus Christ in prayer, and "he himself will sustain you." Psalms 55: 22 Hearts go out to the family in this time of sorrow.

Herb was a true gentleman. He had an extraordinary record of accomplishments, and a good nature, warmth, and vitality which made him a friend to those of us privileged to know him. In recent years, he was particularly generous with his time and support for the Worcester Public Schools' JROTC program, and his enthusiasm for JROTC was a key factor in making its programs so successful. He was truly a role model, for the JROTC cadets, of a life well lived - for this family, his friends, his country, and his community.

What a great all around guy and leader of the greatest generation! He single handedly remodeled and landscaped the War Memorial in front of Strand's Ski Shop back in 2007! Our family is forever thankful for Herb adding my Dad's name to that neighborhood memorial. Will miss Herb at the JROTC Awards nights too! A country; city and neighborhood is ever indebted to your fine service Patriot!

I have known Mr. Adams since I was in his scout troop 45 years ago and saw him only 2 weeks before his passing at the Troop 54 100th anniversary reunion. Many memories of his life lessons will stay with me; some of my best adventures were with Mr. Adams. If there is any litter in heaven, he will make sure it is picked up pronto.

Herb is one of the best veteran and citizen in the city of Worcester. I used to see him do his volunteering work cutting the grass, clean up the areas around Morgan Park. All his in his old age in the late 80's. Anyone that ever met him would enjoy him in his conversation. He is the WW II Body Guard of General Eisenhower. He is a great man that will be truly missed. May he rest in peace and his memory be eternal.

An honest, genuine tell it like it is kind of guy. You wanted to be around him in hopes that "some of it" would rub off on you. Dedicated, caring and giving. What more could someone ask for in a husband, dad, grandfather, great grandfather or friend. Rest in peace. You will not be forgotten

As as associate member of the Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge, I met Herb many years ago at the luncheon meetings. I was the lucky recipient of one of Herbs fine and beautifully created mug stands. Herb was generous in giving away his talented woodworking creations for our raffles. Mostly though, I will be forever grateful to Herb for his service to our country during WWII especially his time fighting in the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium. Herb was a true patriot. Rest in Peace dear soldier.

To Beverly and family
It has been such an honor knowing Herb since 1979 when I transferred to Troop 54, from Troop 59 in Lake View area of Worcester. Herb was one of top 3 most influential men in my life for character development... he was next to my dad, along with Don Harris and Mr Richard Sears...all great volunteers and leaders of Troop 54. Herb: a man who helped many boys grow in the Scouting program and develop their full potential. Dedicated to his country community, friends and family. God Bless you and thanks for all you have done for me.
