Ina D. (Anderson) Noel, 86, died on Monday, January 16, 2017, surrounded by her loving family, in the Life Care Center of Auburn, after a period of declining health.
Her husband of 56 years, Paul E. Noel, died in 2008.
She leaves three children: Lloyd P. Noel and his wife, Deborah A. (Moreau) Noel, and Paula I. Klys and her husband, John R. Klys, all of Charlton, and Nancy D. Graves of Oxford; seven grandchildren: Shawn P. Noel of Spencer, Jessica E. Russell of Warren, Alyssa D. Noel of Southbridge, Nicholas L. Noel of Charlton, Jonathan E. Klys of Worcester, Joel J. Klys of Brimfield, and Hillary I. Graves of Spencer; eight great grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by her parents, Anton and Dora C. (Larson) Anderson; nine sisters: Audrey Thorsen, Viola Sturgeon, Evelyn Archer, Irene Tetrault, Louise Pude, Doris Michaud, Jeanette Goranson, Clarice Helstrom, and Rosella Anderson; and six brothers: George Anderson, Andrew Anderson, Gilbert Anderson, Clyde Anderson, Clifton Anderson, and Leslie Anderson.
Born in New Sweden, ME, on December 2, 1930, she attended Caribou High School before marrying and moving to Millbury in 1951.
Mrs. Noel's life was centered around her husband, her children, and her home. Her grandchildren and great grandchilden added to her happiness as her family expanded.
She was very proud of having taken part for several years in the clinical trials in rheumatology directed by Dr. Charles Birbara of Worcester which led to the approval of the new rheumatoid arthritis drug, "Humira".
She was a member of the Scandinavian Athletic Club in Shrewsbury, and Assumption Catholic Parish in Millbury. Years ago, she was a Campfire leader for several years. In recent years, she particularly enjoyed summering with her relatives in New Sweden.
Mrs. Noel's funeral will be Saturday, January 21, from Turgeon Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. in Assumption Catholic Church, 10 Waters St.,
Millbury. Burial in All Faiths Cemetery, Worcester, will follow the Mass.
Relatives and friends may visit with her family in the funeral home on Friday, January 20, from 5:30 to 8:30 P.M. Donations in her memory should be made to Assumption Catholic Parish, 12 Waters St., Millbury, MA 01527, instead of sending flowers.

Our sympathy to Lloyd, Paula, Nancy and their families for your loss. I will always remember Aunt Ina at Grammies long table with my mother and others Anderson sisters and sisters-in-law laughing and carrying on conversations that switched from English to Swedish dependent on what was being said. Fond memories of a memorable lady.
