Isaac Gamel Obituary
Isaac Gamel, "Uncle Ike," passed away peacefully at his home on October 19th in Sunny Isles Beach, FL at the age of 84. He is survived by his loving children: Bennett Gamel, Rebecca (Eli) Almo, and Joel (Lori) Gamel; siblings: Eli Gamel and Lena Sharaby; ten grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Isaac Gamel was born on April 16th, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY to Haim and Rivka Gamel of Sephardic, Yemenite heritage.
Isaac Gamel was a self-made entrepreneur who became a legendary real estate developer in Seattle, Los Angeles, and Miami. He was among the first condominium developers in Seattle. He pioneered the development of luxurious apartment homes with lavish amenities, taking apartment living to new horizons. He converted many apartment buildings into condominiums, including the Carriage House in Miami.
Isaac Gamel was full of life and loved to give unto others. He took in many people for employment when no one else would and taught them to become successful real estate developers in their own right. He gave the utmost respect, love, and care for his parents and family. He was always generous and hospitable to all of his guests and he loved making everyone around him happy. He had unwavering faith in G-D.
A funeral is scheduled for Monday, October 20th at 1:30pm at Levitt Weinstein Memorial Chapel, 18840 W. Dixie Highway, North Miami Beach, FL 33180, (305)932-2700.
The burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Park, 10301 NW 25th Street, Miami, FL 33172.
The family will be sitting shiva through Wednesday at his home: Sands Point 16711 Collins Avenue, Apartment TS-04, Sunny Isles Beach, Florida. The shiva will continue in Seattle at the home of Eli and Rebecca Almo. All are welcome to attend. Donations may be made in his memory to The Seattle Kollel or Seattle Hebrew Academy. I used to know Ike when I was younger,he always knew how to make ur day a great one ! I was invited to his penthouses alot, I still remember his maid as well . I remember he went to the fair one time I couldn't go cause my leg was broke and I was on crutches , he called me and told me to bring my daughter cause he won a big pink dog stuffed toy and he wanted to give it to her. It's been a long long time I was just thinking about him and decided to look him up and just found this ❤ He was an amazing friend and I miss him more now.

Hello, my name is Eric Cummings! I reside in Bay Harbor Islands FL. I knew Mr. Gamel when he lived in the Carriage House in the top penthouse in 1993! I use to work security and the gym! I remember he use to drive a light beige drop top Rolls Royce! His solarium was absolutely beautiful! I also remember he had a private elevator to his place ! He was a dear friend! He will be missed!

What an amazing man Isaac "Ike" Gamel was. I am so glad I had the opportunity to know and love you. Life with you was full of adventure and down right fun. You taught me so much about life and showed me the world. Some of the best times of my life were shared with you. I just ran across this obituary and my heart broke. May you RIP sweet IKE. You will never be forgotten.

My Uncle Ike was full of life and laughter! He had a distinctive voice and his spirit was larger than life. His legacy will live on with his large loving family.
