James Grasseschi Obituary
HUBBARDSTON - James "Jim" Grasseschi, 48 of Hubbardston formerly of Worcester passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2013 in Heywood Hospital, Gardner after being stricken ill in his sleep.
Jim was born in Worcester his father was the late John Grasseschi. He graduated from Holy Name High School and earned his degree in electrical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He met and married the love of his life and best friend for the next 24 years, Michell M. (Giguere) Grasseschi. Together they moved to Oxford for ten years to raise their three children. In 2000, Jim and Michell, bought a piece of land and farm in the countryside of Hubbardston where they have lived for the past 12 years.
After graduation from WPI, Jim entered the family business; Grasseschi Plumbing and Heating when his father became ill assuming the role of President, guiding, directing and nurturing it to where it stands now.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of the past 24 years, Michell M. (Giguere) Grasseschi; three children, Brittany, Nicholas and Amanda Grasseschi; his mother Diane (Prince) Grasseschi of Worcester; three sisters, Maria Desy of Millbury, Gina Correiro and Lisa Grasseschi both of Worcester; Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and numerous friends.
Jim was an active in many organizations and associations throughout the years including, the MCA, Merit Construction Alliance as a member and board of director, ABC; Associated Builders and Contractors Association; Skills USA; PHCCMA Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling Contractors of Massachusetts; CMEA Central Mass Employees Association; ASM Associated Subcontractors of Massachusetts, the Better Business Bureau and the Grafton Hill Business Association. He and Michell were members of Mount Pleasant Country Club and he enthusiastically loved Golf. When not working or home with family Jim could be found on the Club Golf Course playing or enjoying social functions. He also loved to play the piano, exercise and compete. He would run religiously and at onetime participated in the Boston Marathon, and the Pan Mass Bicycle Challenge. Although he was head of a business, he always found time to devote to his wife, children and family. They were the center of his world and inspiration. He enjoyed every moment they could shared together.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit with Jim's family, Sunday January 13th from 3 pm to 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Worcester. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am. Monday, January 14th in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. (Please go directly to church). Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. I had the pleasure of working for Grasseschi Plumbing for Jim for 9 + yrs. His smile was infectious and his was all around great guy. He always had time for anyone that had an issue, even though you know he was very busy.

Diane, Michell, and family, I am so sorry about Jim. Even though I have lived across the street for 35 years, I just learned of your loss. Looking back, I saw lots of activity at your home around that time but thought nothing of it as I have always envied all the family functions and get-togethers your family enjoyed. I remember first moving to the neighborhood and seeing Jim almost every day with a big smile, wave and a "hi." I can't imagine how hard a loss this must be for your close family. I am so sad to think that the world lost another great man. I can't imagine life without my phone ringing 5 times a week in the fall with Jim's voice on it saying " I hate fantasy football, but do want to make a trade anyway?" I am crushed with this loss of one of my dearest friends. He was the greatest..When we weren't talking about football or work stuff we talked about family. He loved his family so much and always said he loved being home. Michelle, Auntie Diane, Brittany, Nick and Amanda, Maria, Gina and Lisa. Words cannot even express how we are feeling. Our hearts are saddened and broken along with yours. We loved him so much. Little Jimmy drew him a picture and wrote him a note. We promised to put it on a balloon and send it up to heaven for him. I will always cherish our childhood memories of our yearly summer vacations at the cape, and my family will always remember the annual fourth of July parties. We will be with you in this time of grief, and will remember Jimmy as strong, loving, kind and gentle man. We will miss him deeply.

Michell, Brittany, Amanda, Nick & Family - my deepest sympathies on your loss. Its been many years since I have worked at Grasseschi, but I have always remembered Jim fondly. He always had a smile that would light up a room and the kindest heart. May god bless you all and keep you close.

Niccole and I were shocked and greatly saddened to hear the news of Jim's sudden passing last night. He was someone who has always held a very special place in our hearts, as do all of you. My sympathies to Jim's family and friends. I had the honor of working with his Dad John and Jim. Jim was a great guy to work for and always treated me as an old friend when I would stop at the office and say hi after I left working for his company. My wife Caroline also met Jim at some of the company Christmas parties years ago and is saddened by your loss. We will always remember Jim fondly with a smile.
