James D. Nieber, Sr., 60

Holden - James D. Nieber, Sr., 60, of Holden passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at home surrounded by his family and friends.

He leaves his wife of 11 years, Morag E. (Gardner) Meola Nieber; four children, James D. Nieber, Jr. and his companion, Amanda L. Johnson of Worcester, Jarrade D. Nieber of Worcester, David Meola and his wife, Katie and Ashley Gibbons and her husband, Christopher; his parents, Donald and Fay (Olson) Nieber of Bellingham; seven siblings, Pam Green of Port St. Lucie, FL, his twin, Lori Urso and her husband, Jim of Worcester, Mark Harvey of Westminster, Wendy Curtis of Athol, Kerry Gingras of Gardner, Heather Nieber of Worcester and Peter Nieber of New Hamsphire; ten grandchildren, Lydia, Brynn, Kaleb, Justin, Kali, Rayea, Julian, Timmery, Linneya and Alysia and many nieces and nephews. Two siblings, Kevin and Steven Nieber predeceased him. He was born in Fitchburg and graduated from Burncoat High School.

Jim worked as a restaurant kitchen designer and equipment salesman for Westerman's Equipment in Worcester for many years, prior to that he worked at Lindo Incorporated. To know Jim was to know a man with a great sense of humor and a man who was always willing to help someone in need. He loved a good practical joke and taking care of his perfect lawn. Jim was an avid football fan and especially loved his beloved Patriots. He also enjoyed playing golf at Green Hill Golf Course and Wachusett Country Club.

Visiting Hours are Friday, May 7 from 4 to 7pm at Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 1 West Boylston St., West Boylston. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 8 at 10am in St. Michael's-on-the-Heights Church, 340 Burncoat St., Worcester. Burial will follow in High Plains Cemetery in West Boylston. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Michael's on-the-Heights Church.

Jim was a great person and a pleasure to know. Always had good word to say, and was a very positive person. He certainly enjoyed his sports as well as listening to music at G. Rest In Peace Jim.

Jim was a great guy, with a big heart, and a bigger sense of humor. The first time I met him I was about 11 , he had me sign a note for his supervisor explaining why he was late for work that day. I'm proud to have known him.
