Jane Rose Obituary

Jane (Kalinowski) Rose

Milford - Jane (Kalinowski) Rose, 88, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of June 16th, 2021 while held and surrounded by her loving family at the Whitcomb House in Milford. She courageously fought a long and heartbreaking battle with illness. Jane formerly lived in Upton and many years in Northbridge.

She sadly leaves behind her 2 daughters, Paula Rose of Uxbridge, Donna Rose of Uxbridge and 3 sons, Thomas Rose of Upton, Michael Rose of Northbridge and Daniel Rose of Gardner; 5 grandchildren, Heather, Kristen, Jonathan, Christopher and Lindsay; 4 great-grandchildren Derrick, Olivia, Lilly Ann and Raymond with 2 more little ones expected to arrive this year. She also leaves behind her very special and beloved "little" sister, Genevieve Rose of Milford who has also been by her side, and also many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her former husband Roy Rose; 6 brothers, Stephen, Chester, Richard, Leo, Vincent and Theodore Kalinowski; and 2 sisters, Stasia Kaminski and Helen Kalinowski.

She was born on the family farm in Boylston, MA in 1932, the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Lemanski) Kalinowski. Many endearing stories were passed down and told of the families' years on the farm. She later grew up in Worcester and graduated from St. Mary's. As a teen she started her working years at a fruit stand in Worcester and ended her work following many years at St. Vincent Hospital in medical records. Jane absolutely loved her work and made many endeared friendships over those years.

Jane loved being a "mom" and she loved family and life. She passed on the family values of caring for one another and those in need. The simple things, such as, being with her children, grandchildren, family and friends was most important to her. She was well known for wanting always to cook for you while cracking her many jokes and watching you laugh and entertaining and making so many very happy and memorable holidays. Her great sense of humor was foremost, while looking at the positives no matter what. Whatever she had, she gladly gave and sacrificed if and when needed knowing that sharing and caring is what it was all about. She had a special soft heart for elders who were struggling and for children who were ill, homeless or troubled and gave to these causes with her heart, time and monetarily. She was multi-talented, which included art, writing, crafts such as chair caning, her love of history and antiquing and she always had a good book she wanted to talk about. She believed in God, His promises, the power of prayer and this is what quietly sustained her in life. She truly was such an adventurous and free spirit and just absolutely loved the "impromptu" trips to everywhere and nowhere. New Hampshire and Maine at the family cottage were two of her most favorite places on earth with her family. She will leave a great void in the lives of her family and those who knew and loved her as she was.

The Rose family would like to especially give their thanks to the many dedicated workers, caregivers, doctors, and nurses who gave their care, time, understanding and support over these last 4 years. A special thanks to the Spiritual Clergy, Father Peter, Father Tom and Reverend Judith who visited and gave their time, care and words of true comfort. A special thanks goes out to Jeannie Caruso for her heart and time, you were a true friend in time of need.

Mrs. Rose's funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 from HENRY - DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., Worcester with a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St., Worcester.
