Janet Romanoff Obituary

Janet M. (Figurski) Romanoff, of Worcester, died Good Friday April 6 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, 119 Belmont St. Her husband, Chester S. Romanoff died in 1995.

She leaves a daughter, Katrina M. Romanoff Cooke and her husband, Robert Cooke of Groton, MA, a son, Mark S. Romanoff of Bridgewater; a sister, Theresa Buckroth of Worcester; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A daughter, Lisa A. (Romanoff) LeRoux of Worcester died in 1979. She was also predeceased by two brothers and a sister, John C. and Stanley J. Figurski and Viola Mondor.

She was born in Worcester, a daughter of Alexander and Mary (Kudzma) Figurski and lived here all her life. Mrs. Romanoff worked many years in the accounting dept. for State Mutual Life Assurance Co. and later Hanover Insurance Co. She retired several years ago. After retiring she worked for BJ's Wholesale Club, Westborough. She graduated from Commerce High School. Janet was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and was a longtime volunteer for Abby's House, Why Me, Sherry's House and Hope Lodge.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 10 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St, with a Mass at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Monday, April 9 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St, Worcester, MA 01610.
