Janice Stebbins Obituary

Janice A. "Pinky" (Lajoie) Stebbins, 60, of Tamar Avenue, passed away, Sunday, October 22, 2006, in her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She leaves her husband of 36 ½ years, Leo T. Stebbins; two daughters, Terry A. Clifford of Marlborough, and Tammy L. Fossett and her husband Paul of Jacksonville, Florida; two step-daughters, Jacqueline Blake and Helen Wright both in Edinborough, Scotland; a sister, Pauline M. Lajoie of Worcester; twelve grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A sister, Carol A. Beaudoin, pre-deceased her. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Roland and Rose (Jubinville) Lajoie, and has lived here most of her life. She graduated from David Hale Fanning Trade High School, and later trained to be a travel agent.

Pinky worked as a cashier for Building 19 in Worcester, for many years, retiring earlier this year. She had previously owned Flowers by Jan on Granite Street in Worcester. She enjoyed travel, cooking, and her family.

The funeral for Jan will be held Thursday, October 26, from MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Saint Joseph Church, 35 Hamilton Street, Worcester. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, October 25, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the V.N.A. Hospice Care Network, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608 or the American Cancer Society, 350 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA 01604.

Dear Leo,
I am so sorry for not being able to attend the wake and funeral for Janice. We went to high school together and have some wonderful memories. She always had a smile for everyone, whether she wasn't feeling well or busy with her work.
I will always have her in my heart.
