Jeffrey Cranson Obituary
Sterling - Jeffrey Edwin Cranson, who departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, was known by many and loved by all. An avid outdoorsman and traveler, Jeff was always one to share in a laugh, pass along a kind word, or listen with compassion. His love of the outdoors was only surpassed by his love for family and friends, each of whom was made a better person through Jeff's kindness and love. Born in Leominster, MA on March 16, 1977, Jeff graduated from Wachusett High School and then Worcester State University.
Jeff will be greatly missed by family and friends including his mother, Maureen M. Cranson (McIntyre) & Robert C. Decker; his father, Donald E. Cranson & Cynthia Collard; his fiancé Alexandria N. Najduch; his sisters Sarah Marrone (Cranson) & her husband Edward; Kristen Nelson (Cranson) & her husband Erik; nieces and nephews Kylie, Sydnie, Allie, Luke and Caden; many aunts and uncles, cousins and more friends than one could count. He is preceded in death by his grandparents and Aunt Peggy Brodrick.
In January, Jeff was diagnosed with Stage IV Melanoma that had spread throughout his body and brain. Although Jeff had the never-ending love and support of family and friends, cancer waged war on his body and he was never presented a fair fight. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Brigham & Women's Hospital, Spaulding Rehabilitation Center, Dr. Patrick Ott, Dana Farber Melanoma Center, Meri Viano (family advocate) and the community of angels who helped us over the past 2 months.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 1st from 4 to 8 p.m. at Miles- Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 2nd at the First Church in Sterling, 6 Meetinghouse Hill Road, Sterling, with a reception to follow at the Sterling National Country Club, 33 Albright Road, Sterling. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jeff's life.

Don't know if this is still an active site, but Jeff is still an active memory for me and I spoke today with the ER nurse who helped him in Sitka when I just happened by on my morning delivery rounds and saw Alex in the waiting area and then got to spend those precious hours with Jeff and Alex before the first medevac flight arrived. That was the last time I saw him and it still all seems surreal and sad. The world was a better place with Jeff in it.
