I first met Joan in 1960 when we were both in Art School at the Worcester Art Museum. Our dingy classrooms were in the basement of the museum. There was no radio reception in the basement. One day we heard beautiful singing coming from one of the back room. We thought someone had brought in a record player. A few of us went to investigate. We stood there with our mouths open when we realized that voice was coming from Joan. Someone went and got the rest of the students. None of us could believe what we were hearing.

A few years ago I saw Susan Boyle on "Britton has talent". Joan's voice was like hers. She could hit all those notes.

Joan sang at my wedding, as well as many of her other friends. She is up in heaven now singing with the angels.

She was a unique soul. Very kind. She made the world vivid. She will be missed.

I am so very sorry to read about Joan's passing. I always enjoyed conversing with her while waiting for my appointment at Amethyst Point.

It is my hope that, in the difficult days ahead, you and all those who loved Joan will be comforted by the wonderful memories of her.
