Joan Stevenson Obituary

Joan M. (Curtis) Stevenson, 74, of Auburn died Sunday July 4, 2010 in St. Vincent's Hospital after a brief illness.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jonathan "Bud" Stevenson of Auburn, their children: Robert Stevenson and his wife Wendy of Auburn, and Norman and his wife Mary Hudgens, of Covina, CA, and the apple of her eye, and the shining star in her sky, her beloved granddaughter Amy Stevenson of Auburn.

She was born in Worcester; she was the daughter of the late Walter and Greta (Johnson) Curtis. She was educated in Worcester schools, later graduating from the former Commerce High.

Mrs. Stevenson worked in the office of University Relations at WPI for many years prior to her retirement.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her beloved Amy. She took pride in keeping her home and yard immaculate. She also loved to shop, and travel to Amish Country.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours from 6-8 PM Wednesday July 7, 2010 in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St. Auburn. Her funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Thursday July 8. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
