John Cramer Obituary
UXBRIDGE - John Cramer, 87, of Uxbridge for the past 4 years and formerly of Newark, NJ, passed away Thursday March 13, 2014 in Ichabod Washburn Hospice Center, Worcester. He was the husband of Josephine (Maglio) Cramer.
Mr. Cramer was born in Evansville, Indiana on Nov. 2, 1926 the son of the late John and Carrie (Ebert ) Cramer and was a graduate of Seton Hall University.
He was a manufacturing engineer for many years at Worthington Dresser in Harrison, NJ. Upon retiring, he worked for Perrillo Auctioneers in NJ.
John was dedicated to his work and devoted to his teaching. He was also an adjunct professor at County College of Morris. He was the founder and orchestrator of the NJ Tool Show Foundation- a yearly convention/ trade show in NJ and was a member and past chairman of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and past treasurer of the NJ World Trade Council – a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting trade between NJ and the free world..
He was also a member of St. Mary's Church in Uxbridge and was a past member of St. Anthony's Church in Belleville, NJ. He had proudly served in Merchant Marine Corps and the Marine Corps in WWII and Korean War.
In addition to his wife Josephine for 66 years, he is survived by a son Neil K. and his wife Cathy Cramer of Stanhope, NJ; a daughter Linda J. and her husband Tom Christian; a sister Elsie Brodenhausen of Indiana; 4 grandchildren Lindsey Pecca, Amanda Cramer, Carly Christian, and Lauren Christian.
Visiting hours will be Saturday March 15, 2014 from 4 – 7 PM in the BUMA FUNERAL HOME, 101 N. Main St., Rte. 122, Uxbridge, MA.
Visiting hours will also be on March 17, 2014 from 5 – 8 PM in the S.W. Brown and Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley, NJ 07110.
A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday March 18, 2014 at 10:30 AM in St. Anthony's Church, Belleville, NJ. Burial will follow in Gates of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.
