John Wamback Obituary

John E. Wamback, 84
WORCESTER - John Edward Wamback, a lifelong Worcester resident, died peacefully on Thursday, January 3, 2013 surrounded by his family.
Born in Worcester in 1928, John was the son of Elvena and Loche Wamback.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II and was recalled to active duty in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
He worked as a printer at Colonial Press in Clinton for many years.
John loved reading and politics. He always had a great sense of humor. He was a member of the Pleasant St. Baptist Church.
He leaves his wife, Theresa Wamback, three daughters, Jennifer Lynn Petrides, Phyllis Cobiski and her husband Richard, and Barbara J. Stewart, a brother Stephen Wamback, a sister Rita Grenier, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his son Michael Francis, his brothers Louie, Jerry and Joseph, and his sisters Adele Wamback and Marie Peitrazk.
Funeral arrangements and burial in Hope Cemetery will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jimmy Fund, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
The Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, is directing arrangements.
