Favorite uncle despite distance. He had the gift of making you glow inside.
I learned of his death too late to attend. Wish it had been otherwise. Would have shared your sense of loss in person.
Why do the good ones go?
But more imporantly, we know where they go.

The Tyson Family

We hold memories in our hearts of fond remembrance of our Uncle Jonathan.
He enjoyed his family and was always involved in family gatherings. He just
loved to get together with family. We felt loved by him growing up. He
always helped bring out the best in everyone and wanted everyone to succeed
and be happy. He had a very funny sense of humor. I will miss his hearty
laugh. One time when we were kids he piled the kids in the convertible and
said we were all going to the police station because we had played in
someone's yard and the police wanted us. When we arrived, he laughed really
loud and said he was playing a trick on us. He was a very funny and happy
man and we always looked forward to seeing him. We enjoyed his sense of
humor and his erudite, well-informed conversations. He was always helping
family members and friends and his word could be counted on daily. He was a
very smart, refined, polite, warm and mild mannered, and classic man, which
is refreshing in today's atmosphere of mediocrity. We will always have a
spot in our hearts for Uncle Jonathan. He was a wonderful uncle, in every
good sense of the word, to his nieces and nephews. We will miss him sorely,
but comforted by knowing he is keeping my dad and grandparents company up in
heaven. We know he was very proud of Lynda, Laurie, Dougie and Chris and
their families and their accomplishments in his lifetime. We are sure that
he is thankful up in heaven of their extraordinary absorption in his care of
him the past few weeks. We know the "love of his life" is Nancy Jean and the
dedication and love in which she cared for him is admired and appreciated
by all Uncle Jonathan's family. Our love always to our family. Larry,
Beth, and Brian-Wm.

The world has lost one of it's finest ~ Jon was a true gentleman. I met Jon years ago, before we were both SAG. He gave an outstanding performance as the senator in the "Good Man's Sin". He was a true gentleman with a heart of gold, who comforted me on set when my husband passed. He spoke of Douglas and we shared our memories. May God bless his family with peace and wonderful memories of time shared with Jonathan. My thoughts and prayers are with them. With fond memories ~

I met Jon while working on the set of "The Pink Panther 2". His car wouldn't start and I couldn't get a ride home,so we shared a rental for the four days that we worked on the set.

I have to tell you that I was captivated by his personna and intelligence. We spoke for hours at a time about many subjects and our lives past experiences. I told him many of the humourous stories of my life and he was fascinated by them. Well in fact I was more fascinated by him. Those of you that knew Jon also knew him for what he was. First of all, a true gentleman,a family man, well educated, a sports fan,a lover of the Arts and much more.

In those four days, I met a man who was unique. I met a man of integrity. I met a man who loved his family. I met a man who loved life. I met a man that "Lived Life". I met a man that I wished I could have had as a friend. I would have been proud and honored to be a friend of Jonathan Walsh.

Trish, I met you only once but I do want you to know, that I was very honored to have met Jon. Never in my life again will I meet another individual like him.

God bless him and keep him safe on his journey.

My deepest sympathies go out to you and your family with the utmost of respect.

Nancy and family,

Well, God must have needed another "star" for the firmament so he took Jonathan. Now our lives will be a little less bright. Whether at lunch in Providence, the film festivals in Newport or on our beloved movie sets, he brought a touch of galmour, an air of sophistication. And he was lots of fun. We will miss him deeply.

Jonathan was a friend of mine from Screen Actors Guild and the acting world. Starting with Meet Joe Black in 1997 we worked on nearly a dozen films together over the last ten years. It was always a pleasure catching up with him on those occasions. Those friendly conversations will be missed.

JOHN & MARY LOU PENNETT

December 26, 2007

To our very special friend Jonnathan.

From John and Mary Lou Pennett.

Some 40 some years ago we met and from that time on it was our pleasure to have shared so many great times together.

The card games where we pretended we knew how to cook.

The many business dealings where you had to bail me out of a jam at Zayre when I ran out of paper.

Your elegant wedding in Newport to "The girl you met in the Snow" Nancy Jean. With the reception at our most favorite place in the world - The Inn at Castle Hill in Newport.

Then the many visits to The Inn for our annual New Years Holiday. By far the highlight of our lifes journey. Those many times with you and Nancy Jean, cannot ever be forgotten in our minds or hearts.

The Fred Astair dancing competetions with you and your friends - How eligant you both were.

The Cruise to the Carribean where you introduced me to everyone as "Your Father" Hey some people actually thought I was.

Our attempt at playing golf in Myrtle Beach were very special when you came to visit some years ago.

Our trip to Newport where we rented a condo and went on a wood scavenger hunt for the fireplace when Mary Lou almost fell into the dumpster.

Johhathan, thank you for being such a wonderful and special friend all these years. We, I, will miss talking and being with you. But know this you will always be right here in our hearts.

We are sorry that we cannot be with you at this time - May you rest in Peace old friend.

I remember John from a gym we both frequented. Although we were just acquaintenances, he was so personable and friendly to talk with, as one of the older guys at that gym, I really appreciated him. His Marine training was also very evident as he always had everything all neat and squared away.

My condolences to his family.
