Joseph Gianetti Obituary

Joseph P. Gianetti, Jr.
Shrewsbury - Mr. Joseph P. Gianetti, Jr., died Saturday, August 11, 2012. He was 75.
He leaves his devoted wife of 47 years, Kathleen F. (Cronin) Gianetti and dedicated son, Christopher J. Gianetti. Joe was born September 9, 1936 in Milford, a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Leone) Gianetti. He was a graduate of Milford High School, class of 1955. He was affectionately known as "Peppi" to his many friends from Milford. With Peppi, his family was always important to him.
His family would like to give a special thanks to Wendy Kokerneck from VNA for her caring support and also to Cathleen Kilcoyne for being there for the Gianetti family.
Joe served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. He earned a degree from Boston University School of Business and a Bachelor of Science degree from Clark University. He also graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute School of Industrial Management. Joe worked for Commonwealth Gas Company, now NSTAR, for 35 years as Director of Customer Relations in Southborough. He was a member of the American Gas Association and also the Chamber of Commerce in several regions of Massachusetts. He retired in 1997 and then began spending his winters in Naples, Florida.
In addition to his wife, Kathleen and son, Christopher, Joe also leaves his close friends, the Cordani and Iarussi families of Holliston. Joe spent many years playing golf with many of his special friends, most especially Al and David Richard, Don Gauch and Fran Polito.
Joe's family and friends will gather to honor and remember him privately in Heald & Chiampa Funeral Directors ~ The Sumner House, 5 Church Road, On the Common, Shrewsbury Center. Rev. James A. Houston, Pastor of St. Rose of Lima Parish will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers honor Joe's memory with a contribution to Brigham and Women's Hospital, in c/o Dr. Richard S. Swanson M.D., 75 Francis Street, Boston, MA 02115.

Kathy and Chris, Our family extends heartfelt sympathy for the passing of our dear friend Joe. His smile, his gentle nature, his sense of humor are with us always.
