Joseph Mertzic Obituary
BARRE - Joseph P. Mertzic Jr., 64, passed away unexpectedly on November 15, 2012.
Joseph was born on June 10, 1948 in Ware, MA, the son of Joseph and Caroline (Rushia) Mertzic. He was a lifelong resident of Barre and graduated from Barre High School in 1966. He was a US Marine Corp veteran and served his country during the Vietnam War. Joseph had worked as an electrician for Sunny Delight and recently returned to Chas G Allen Company in Barre where he had worked for many years.
Joseph enjoyed spending time with his family, vacationing at the beach, hunting and fishing.
He leaves his wife of 42 years, Linda (Taylor) Mertzic and his four children, Kristina (Mertzic) and her husband James Hebert, Joseph Mertzic III and his wife Jennifer, Michael Mertzic and his wife Monica and Jason Mertzic. Joseph also leaves his mother, Caroline Mertzic; brothers, Thomas and his wife Margaret of Barre and Paul & his wife Karen of Raymond, NH and uncle Bill Rushia and his wife Helen of Gardner. He also leaves 3 grandchildren, Madison and Aaron Mertzic & Jocelyn Hebert. He was predeceased by his father Joseph Mertzic and granddaughter Aleena Riley Mertzic. Joseph also leaves many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, November 19, 2012 from 4-7 PM in Pillsbury Funeral Home, 96 S.Barre Rd., Barre. The funeral with full Military Honors will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM in the funeral home.
