June Awad Obituary

June A. Awad, 70

Worcester - June A. Awad, 70, of Worcester, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2020, after a courageous battle with cancer.

June was born in January 12, 1950, to Edward and May Kaskewicz of Shrewsbury, and grew up on Lake Quinsigamond, which she loved. She graduated from Shrewsbury High School and was quickly recruited by Ford Motor Credit Company, where she spent thirty-seven years, and became the first female Branch Manager in company history, rising to the position of Regional Manager of the Northeast Area. She was a dedicated, loyal Ford employee and enjoyed being a family & friend advisor on Ford automobiles.

In 1977, she met the man who would become her husband, Alfred Awad, Jr., they wed in 1978. Together they went on to have a son, Jeffrey Adam Awad; and enjoyed forty-two years of a fun, loving marriage. Her main passion in life was always taking care of and doing kind things for family and friends. Her generosity and kindness was apparent to all who met her and she will live on in the hearts of so many. She loved traveling, meeting new people, and cooking special meals. She was a member of Saint George Orthodox Cathedral.

June is survived by her husband Al; son, Jeff and his wife Ada and granddaughter, Alexandria, all of Worcester; two sisters, Helen Danshire and her husband Ronald, and Diane Beaudry and her husband Craig and their children, Mitchell and Miranda Beaudry, all of Myrtle Beach, SC; step-daughters, Julie Buduski of Worcester and Jessica Buduski and her husband Matthew Roy of Boylston; granddaughters, Adrianna Buduski; Kayla Buduski, and Alexis Roy; niece and nephew, Trevala and Casey Kaskewicz, children of her brother Edward; as well as many other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, May and Edward Kaskewicz and by her brother, Edward J. Kaskewicz.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions and for everyone's safety, her family has chosen to have her services held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Dana Farber in Milford or the Salmon VNA, both who provided great care and comfort.

Al and family-

I had the pleasure to call June my co-worker and leader @ Ford Credit for more than two decades. She was genuine, compassionate and respected by her peers and dealer partners. She was the Boston Region’s moral compass without question. We will miss her dearly.

I worked for and with June since 1984 at Ford Credit. June was a pioneer who worked her way up a difficult corporate ladder. She was extremely loved and respected by her co-workers and dealer partners. More than that, she was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie and daughter first. In spite of her professional accomplishments, June was family first and we enjoyed many conversations about each of ours. She was warm and caring and had a great! (sly) sense of humor with a sharp laugh. I will always remember her smile and laugh. RIP. Sincerest condolence to Al, Jeff and her entire family.

Dear Al, Jeff & family:

Please accept my deepest condolences on your loss.

June hired me at Ford Credit. After hiring me, she chose to mentor me for 31 years. She cheered me on at each level with the Company. On her last day at work, she wrote the most beautiful letter regarding how proud she was of how my generation was growing with the Company. Her business lessons were actually life lessons, and always grounded in making the “human” decision when confronted with difficult choices. I learned from her and have applied those lessons for my entire adult life. June was an amazing role model for us all.

Wishing you all peace during this most difficult time.

With heartfelt sympathy,

Ed Veno and family.

Deepest condolences to June's family and friends. June was a special person. We met through the automobile business, where she was one of the best leaders I've met regardless of gender and yet keenly aware of her status as a role model for younger women starting out in the industry. As an executive, June set a high bar for her team and let people know they were expected to clear it! But my enduring memory of June is just that she was a special person. Any day that you got to interact with June, was a better day for it. We will miss her.

So sorry to hear about the passing of June she was a great lady who I first met in 1992 when I was starting out as a Lincoln Mercury dealer and continued a great relationship with her over the years. I echo Coleman Hoyt's comments about June's caring and supportive nature. RIP

My deepest sympathy to June's family. June was a true professional and a great leader at Ford Credit. I had the honor of working with her on many projects and we both started our careers at Credit in MA. Her legacy will not be forgotten, both by employees, and the dealers she served in the New England area.

Both as a co-worker at Ford and later as Lincoln Mercury dealer, June was a mainstay for me. She took a chance on a young entrepeneur and made it possible for me to succeed. Always a kind word, always supportive through thick and thin, there for me during the ups and down. A truly kind, thoughtful and warm person who will be missed by many.

my time in the Ford Credit Legal Office, I frequently dealt with June and the people who reported to her. She was one of my favorite clients then and a good friend on Facebook after my retirement. Sincere sympathy to her family and friends, but I'm sure everyone has good memories of June.
