Kenneth E. Ramsdell, 77
STURBRIDGE - Kenneth E. Ramsdell, 77, of Fiskdale section of Sturbridge, passed away on July 11, 2012 in the care of hospice at Overlook in Charlton.
He leaves behind his loving wife Mary; six children: Cheryll A. Desorcy of Southbridge and her husband David, Linda P. Lomme of Sturbridge and her husband James, Kevin D. Ramsdell of Sturbridge and his wife Sabra, Alan J. Ramsdell of Charlton and his wife Joan, Jeffrey J. Ramsdell of Southbridge and his wife Deborah, and Steven W. Ramsdell of Marlborough and his wife Jessica; sixteen grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
Mr. Ramsdell, son of the late Earl O. Ramsdell and Clarice, grew up in Southbridge and graduated from Mary E. Wells High School in 1953. He married Mary K. Dumont in Saint Roch's Church in Oxford on July 16, 1955.
He worked in area machine shops and the A.O. at both the Southbridge and Putnam locations. He enjoyed carpentry and gardening, and also had a passion for automobiles. But his main love was his family, each and every one of them.
A private Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel at Overlook in Charlton on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at 2:00PM. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to cancer research at www.cancer.org, or 1-800-227-2345 or to the Autism Alliance of Metro West at 508-652-9900, or www.autismalliance.org.
