Kenneth Stanhope Obituary

Kenneth R. Stanhope, 71, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at his home in Warren. He was born in Southbridge, the son of William and Mildred (Ford) Stanhope. He was predeceased by his sister, Mildred Lewis and two brothers, Richard Stanhope and William "Sonny" Stanhope, Jr. He leaves Jesse Vessella, who he considered his son, and Jesse's wife Amy (Hebert) and their daughter Makayla Vessella of Warren, two sisters, Carol Smith and Gail Stanhope, and longtime friends Carol Vessella of Warren and Phil Vessello of Auburn. He also leaves many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Stanhope was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served his country honorably as a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. When he returned to civilian life he owned two taverns and then a variety store. He was a past commander of V.F.W. Post 8606 in West Warren. He loved watching westerns and baseball on television and listening to oldies.
Ken loved his family and close friends, always putting their needs above his. He was a big man with an even bigger heart and he will be missed by all of them.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date, please email [email protected] for details.
