Lillian Reeks Obituary

Lillian M. (Scobie) Reeks, 71, of Jon Circle died Mon. March 15, 2010 at her residence. She was the wife of Alfred J. Reeks.

Mrs. Reeks was born April 29, 1938 in Worcester, daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Abraham) Scobie and had been a resident of Worcester before moving to Whitinsville 34 years ago. She was educated in the Worcester public schools.

Mr. & Mrs. Reeks were to observe their 53rd wedding anniversary on June 23, 2010.

Mrs. Reeks was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Worcester. She loved her family and cooking.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Brenda J. Carabba of Whitinsville and Joan L. and her husband Philip Opatka of Millbury; one brother, Daniel Scobie of Maine; one sister, Leona Scobie of Cape Cod; 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Debra Tebo; brothers, William Scobie, George Scobie and Michael Scobie and sister, Dorothy Quimby.

Funeral services will be held Thurs. March 18, 2010 at 7 PM in the BUMA FUNERAL HOME, 480 Church St., Whitinsville, MA 01588.

Visiting hours will be held from 5-7 PM, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dream Foundation, 1528 Chapala Street, Suite 304, Santa Barbara, CA 93101.
