Linda Samara Obituary
Worcester - Linda G. Samara, 71, of Worcester passed away Tuesday, December 26th 2017 with her brother and sister at her side, after a period of declining health.
Linda was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Russell K. Samara, Sr. and Hazel (Ohan) Samara. Raised in Worcester, she graduated from North High school and earned her associates degree from Worcester Junior College. Linda was employed for several years at the Worcester County National Bank Operations Center and the Telephone Company. More recently she managed the Edgemere Package Store before becoming an owner/operator of the Reservoir Package Store for over 10 years.
Linda is survived by her family, a brother Russell Samara and his wife Priscilla Shea of Northborough, her sister Andrea Dowd of Worcester; her nephew Alexander and niece, Kimberly Dowd who meant the world to her. It was seldom you saw Linda without her best friend and pet Seth by her side.
We are ever so grateful for the kindness of neighbors and friends who assisted with her daily needs allowing Linda to stay in her beloved home for as long as possible. Once in Beaumont the extraordinary staff made certain her needs were met even going so far as finding a Christmas tree for her absolute favorite holiday.
Linda was a member of St George Orthodox Cathedral.
Friends and relatives are invited to a period of calling hours Friday, December 29th 2017 from 9:30 am to 10:45 am in St George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna Street. Her funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances in her name can be made to St George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna Street Worcester, Ma 01604. The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. is honored to assist the family with arrangements.

Dear Linda's family,
We are so sorry to hear of Linda's passing. We spent some wonderful times with Linda especially in West Yarmouth, on the Cape. Linda had those big beautiful brown eyes, great smile and a very generous heart. She made the best hummus, pilaf and chocolate chip cookies. Please accept our most sincere condolences.

I am so sad to hear of Linda's passing. We have been friends for over 50 years and I will miss her so much. I am thankful that I got to spend a lot of time with her last year when I was in Worcester. I am sorry I won't be able to attend her service as I am now in Florida. May she now Rest In Peace.
