Lucy Rinaldi Obituary

Lucy H. Rinaldi, 96

Worcester - Lucy H. (Losapio) Rinaldi, 96, of Worcester, peacefully fell into the arms of Eternity on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Saint Francis Home in Worcester.

Lucy is survived by her devoted husband of nearly seventy-four years, Patsy Rinaldi; a daughter, Patricia Nemeth of Everett; three sons, Richard Rinaldi and his wife Linda, Louis Rinaldi and his wife Susan, and Paul Rinaldi and his wife Judy, all of Worcester; seven grandchildren, Peter Rinaldi and his wife Jessie of Douglas, Orion Nemeth and his wife Alina of Everett, Jessica Cappuccili and her husband Mike of Rhode Island, Jaclyn Rinaldi of Worcester, Anthony Rinaldi of Worcester, Brianna Troiano and her husband Anthony of Worcester, and Joseph Rinaldi in California; five great grandchildren, Jacob and Lillian Rinaldi, Leah and Jack Capuccili, and Sophie Troiano; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Mauro, Frank, Arthur, and Peter Losapio. Lucy was born in Worcester, daughter of the late, Paul and Mary (LaVolpicello) Losapio, and has called the city home for her whole life.

Lucy retired from Big D Markets, having been an office assistant there for many years. She had previously worked as a law assistant for her nephew, Attorney Joseph Losapio. During World War II, Lucy, like many of the women at that time, worked at local factories supporting out troops and our country during the war.

Lucy was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, now at Our Lady of Loreto, and was a devoted member of the church Golden Ages Club. She loved to sew and do crafting and spent much time and love making gifts of clothing, quilts, and blankets. She adored her family and loved to cook and bake for them, and as her children would say…" in our own little world her cookies are world famous". She enjoyed listening to classical music and the beautiful voices of the Four Tenors and Luciano Pavarotti.

Calling Hours will be on Friday, September 17, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Road, Worcester. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery. (masks are requested during the calling hours)

Flowers may be sent or donation may be made to Seven Hills Foundation, 81 Hope Avenue, Worcester, MA 01603.
