Madeline J. (Dee) Pescaro, 83
Shrewsbury - Madeline J. (Dee) Pescaro, 83, of Shrewsbury, died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, April 27, 2012 at the UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester.
Her beloved husband, Edward J. Pescaro, died in 1980. She leaves her two sons, Joseph E. Pescaro and his wife Carolyn of Holden, and Charles B. Pescaro of Shrewsbury; her daughter, caregiver, and best friend, Marijane Pescaro of Shrewsbury; her two grandsons, Michael J. and Ryan J. Pescaro, both of Holden; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Mrs. Pescaro was also predeceased by her three siblings, Charles B. Dee, Elizabeth Rosseel, and Virginia Hallaman. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Lillian V. (Smith) Dee Anderson and Enfred E.H. Anderson, and lived in Shrewsbury for more than 60 years. A homemaker for most of her life, Mrs. Pescaro returned to school, attending Quinsigamond Community College, after the sudden death of her husband. She then worked as an administrative assistant for Allied Accounts and Interstate Claim Service. She was a longtime member of All Saints Church in Worcester, where she was active in many of its groups and committees, including the Nenana Group. She spent many hours volunteering in the education office at the church. Madeline was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Victor R. Quaranta American Legion Post 397 in Shrewsbury for many years.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Madeline's family on Thursday, May 3rd from 4-7 PM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Her funeral will be held on Friday, May 4th with a service at 10:30 AM in All Saints Church, 10 Irving Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the All Saints Church Memorial Fund. Marijane, Chuck, Joe & extended familes... My deepest sincere condolences on the loss of you mom. I have such wonderful mememories of "Auntie Maddie" since I was a child.
