Marianne Townsend Obituary
Leominster - Marianne J. (Pereira) Townsend, 60 passed away on Wednesday, April 12 at her residence.
She was born on March 13, 1957 in Boston a daughter of the late Joseph and Mildred (Patterson) Pereira.
Mrs. Townsend is survived by her husband of twenty-two years, Peter V. Townsend, one son, Donald G. Stuart Jr. of Hartsville, SC, one daughter, April Laverriere and her husband Mike and their two children Nathanael and Nevaeh of Hartsville, SC, five siblings Kathy Bergeron and her husband David of Linwood, Patricia Jose of Milford, Joanne LeBel and her husband Paul of Whitinsville, Joseph Pereira and significant other Sheryl Farnam of Northbridge, John Pereira and his wife Leigh of Webster, her in laws, John B. and Linda Townsend of Marlborough, her sister in law, Julie A. Townsend of Fitchburg, a life-long friend, Barbara Richford, many nieces and nephews and her beloved pet, "Lady".
Mrs. Townsend was previously employed as a CNA at the St. Camillus Nursing Home in Whitinsville. She also worked as a private home health care provider for many years.
Marianne enjoyed gardening and crocheting and doing special things for others, especially children and seniors. She dedicated her life to helping others and bringing them joy, even in the small things. She was also a member of The Fitchburg Church of the Nazarene.
There are no calling hours.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on April 22, 2017 at The Fitchburg Church of the Nazarene, 800 South St., Fitchburg, MA.
Burial will be private.
The Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg are assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Marianne's memory to The Massachusetts Children's Trust Fund, The Simonds-Sinon Regional Cancer Center at Burbank, in Fitchburg, MA., The Fitchburg Church of the Nazarene- Children's Ministry, or your favorite charity.

Marianne and Peter's wedding was the first wedding that ever made me cry. I could see how happy she made my friend. I knew at that moment that they would bring joy to each other's lives. Marianne was kind and loving. When ever I saw her, no matter how much time had past, she always greeted me with a smile and a hug. The world is a better place because she was in it.

Many times I have entered condolences in other peoples Guest Book. I have never had the opportunity to do so for someone who is part of my family who was so young. She is a daughter to Linda and I - we loved her so much and prayed for her all the time. We especially prayed for her when she was so sick and hospitalized in Leominster Hospital. I still cannot fathom the thoughts of her being gone to be with Jesus even though I know it is reality, God is so GOOD. No More suffering, no more oxygen, no more drugs to take to ease her breathing, pain or any other reason. No more Hospitals. Peace at last.
May God provide peace to my son and my grandchildren and great-grand children. May the Lord be part of your lives and bring you comfort.
