Marie Dimmick Obituary

Marie "Gloria" Elie, Dimmick, 82 of Orlando Florida passed away on November 2nd, at home surrounded by her loving children. She is survived by, one sister Pearl Lascko of Torrington Conn; her four children, Nancy A. Johnson and her husband David of Hudson NH, Raymond J. Elie,III and his wife Susan of Orlando Fl, Linda Mullaney of Orlando Fl. and Susan Derosier and her husband Joseph of Cherry Valley Ma. She also leaves Wayne Smiley of Amherst NH., as well as thirteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of Clifford and Lorenda (Doucette) LaMere. She was predeceased by her Husband of 42 years Raymond J. Elie Jr. of Worcester her second husband Leon Dimmick of Orlando, Fl. a brother Clifford LaMere Jr. two sisters Barbara Prendiville of Townsend Ma, and Joyce Johnson of Worcester, and two grandsons, James Elie and Jason Mullaney, one great grandchild Edwin Smith-Rivera.

Gloria lived in Worcester most of her life and was an active member of the Worcester Lodge of Elks Emblem club #51, where she held many offices including President. She was the first women in the history of the Worcester Emblem Club ever to be elected to a state office and was elected President of the Massachusetts State Association in 1988. She also held Supreme office. Gloria was also a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in Orlando Florida and held several offices in this club. She was an avid reader and had many hobbies including quilting and rubber stamping which she taught. Before retiring she worked for Paul Revere Life Inc. Company as an executive secretary.

The family welcomes friends and family to join them at a graveside service which will be held Saturday, November 14 at 10 AM in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. There are no calling hours. To place an online condolence please visit
