Marie Morton Obituary
AUBURN - Marie T. (Witkowski) Morton passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at the age of 56.
She leaves her husband of 37 years, James L. Morton; her mother, Theresa (Karbowski) Witkowski; her son, Adam Morton and his wife Ashley of Oxford and her daughter, Danielle Farrell and her husband Edward of Auburn; 3 grandsons: Landon, Edward Jr. and Jason Farrell; a brother-in-law, Clarence Morton and his wife Debbie of Webster; 2 nieces, Kelly and Kimberly along with several cousins and frields. Two brothers, Thomas "Tommy" and Michael Witkowski both predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Theodore and Theresa Witkowski and raised in Auburn, where she graduated from Auburn High. Marie worked for BJ's Wholesale Club for the past 15 years until her retirement but spent her earlier years raising her family whom she loved dearly. She also enjoyed reading and making crafts.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family on Friday, April 17, 2015 from 5-8PM at the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. Her funeral service will be Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 10AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn. Jimmy, I am so sorry to hear of Marie's passing. She was such a kind and loving person and she will be greatly missed. It is so hard to find the right words at this difficult time. Jim, Adam and Danielle, I am at a loss but there is so much to say. Marie was a beautiful lady, inside and out. She had a beautiful smile and was one of the sweetest people I knew. If there is anything that I can do to help or ease the pain, I'm here for you. So many great memories, some will make you wipe a tear and others will make you laugh so hard that you will have to wipe another tear. These memories will help you through your terrible loss...tell your children and your children's children all about their beautiful grandmother and keep her spirit alive! Look to the sky tonight and you will see a bright new star, that will be Marie watching down and protecting her family so when you are sad and need to talk to her, just look to the sky and she will be there. My sympathies to the family. I wanted to share my high school memories of beautiful, blue eyed Marie with that laugh and smile that would light up the room...usually in tandem with Ann Walker. I spent many mornings hanging out at the Coffee Cup with her dear Dad Ted and often ran into him at the Auburn Mall. He never failed to make my friend Lynda and I laugh and visa versa!!! Ted and Marie are forever together and laughing again.
