Mark Clancey Obituary

Mark S. Clancey, 56, formerly of 9 Sever St., Worcester, died Friday, Oct. 30, 2009 at Autumn Village after a long illness.

He leaves two brothers, Michael T. Clancey of Worcester, Kevin J. Clancey and his wife Donna of Sturbridge; three sisters, Kathleen A. Kanaracus and her husband Nicholas, Sharron F. Clancey and Margaret M. Clancey, all of Worcester; many nephews, nieces and grandnephews, and a grandniece.

His mother, Gertrude H. (McCarthy) Clancey, died in 2004. His father, Joseph B. Clancey, died in 1962. His brother, Ronald E. Clancey, died in 1954.

Mark was born in Worcester, and lived in Worcester all his life. He graduated from North High School.

He was a manager at the former Whitman's Market on Water St. He also transported patients for many years at Hahnemann Hospital and was a volunteer at St. Vincent Hospital.

Mark had many interests. He had a deep spiritual side and participated in many prayer meetings. He also liked to play bingo. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his nephews and nieces.

Calling hours are Tuesday, Nov. 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral will be Wednesday, Nov. 4 from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant St., Worcester. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Healthlink, 72 Jaques Ave., Worcester, MA 01610.

To the Clancey Family,
Mark had alot of friends and family here at Autumn Village, He was quite a gentleman. He always had a smile on his face. I called him the Autumn Village greeter,as he always had a hello for anyone who entered our Facility. I will miss him alot. My deepest sympathy to the family.
