Mark Duggan Obituary

Mark E. Duggan, 51

Northborough - Mark E. Duggan passed away peacefully at his home, Wednesday, November 9, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer; he was 51 years old. Mark was the husband of Donna (Pitcher) Duggan and son of William P. and Mary Ellen (Corbett) Duggan of Westport Island, ME and Bonita Springs, FL. In addition to his wife and parents Mark leaves three daughters, Michaela Duggan of Quincy, Rhian Duggan and Riley Duggan, and their mother and his friend, Mary Ellen Duggan all of Northborough; his stepchildren, Nicholas Simmons and Christopher Simmons, both of Littleton, and Taylor Simmons of Northborough; and one granddaughter, Madelynne Simmons. He also leaves one brother, William Duggan and his wife Marcy of Stow; a sister, Karen Burnham and her husband Andy of Alva, FL and Glenn Allen, AK; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family and friends, especially those friends of Bill W.

Mark was born in Somerville on November 30, 1964 and spent his younger years in Stow, graduating from Nashoba Regional High School. After graduation Mark continued school through Local 103 IBEW, earning his electrician's license. He continued working as a commercial electrician until May of 2014 when he became ill. When not working, Mark enjoyed fishing, caring for his beloved dogs, crossword puzzles, and some well-deserved time in his chair with his best friend Biskit beside him. Mark was an avid Bruins fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR; he could always be found building and fixing things for his family and friends and enjoyed life "without his turtle!" Above all Mark cherished the time spent with "his girls", all of whom he loved, always.

Mark's family wishes to thank Mark's caretakers at UMASS Memorial University Campus and the Dana Farber Institute for the care, compassion, and time given to Mark during his treatments.

Calling hours will be held Friday, November 11, 2016, from 4-6PM, in the Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, November 12, 2016, at 10AM, at St. Bernadette's Parish, 266 Main Street, Northborough. Mark's family respectfully asks in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions in Mark's honor be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123. "ALWAYS"
