Mark Lucente Obituary
Shrewsbury - Mark V. Lucente, 68, of Shrewsbury, passed way suddenly on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, after a brief period of declining health.
Mark is survived by his loving wife of forty-six years, Marcia (Scarpone) Lucente; two devoted daughters, Melissa Johnson and her husband Christopher of Douglas and Mallory Caruso and her husband Peter of Boylston; a brother, Michael Lucente and his wife Deborah of Cherry Valley; a sister, Marie Ushinski of Holden; three grandchildren, Mackenzie and Jack Johnson and Sophia Caruso; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Mark was born in Worcester, son of the late Marco and Edith (Palumbo) Lucente. He graduated from Saint Peter's High School and from Wentworth Institute of Technology. He moved to Shrewsbury in 1979, where he and Marcia raised their family.
Mark worked beside his father and brother for many years at their family business, Lucente Asphalt Paving. Mark loved his home, his yard and gardens, but it was his grandchildren that brought him the greatest joy.
Face masks are preferred during calling hours and the funeral.
Calling Hours will be on Monday, August 9, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His Funeral will be on Tuesday, August 10, from the funeral home, departing in procession at 9:30 a.m. for a 10 a.m. Mass at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Road, Worcester. Interment will follow at Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester.

We were so sad to hear of Mark’s passing. So many memories flooded through my head of our childhood years and our parents lifelong friendship!! It had been many, many years since I'd last seen you Mark. I was saddened to hear of your passing at such a young age as that of our 1953 cohort.
From kindergarten at the old Sacred Heart Academy, you were a good guy and a friend all the way through our high school graduation at St. Peter's.
Our cohort had a thousand laughs and a thousand wonderful memories as classmates for 13 years. We were all blessed to grow up with each other, and to have had the wonderful parents and teachers we did to help guide the way.
