Mark Wescott Obituary

Mark Z. Wescott, 53

GRAFTON - Mark Z. Wescott, 53, of Grafton, passed away with family by his side on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 after a very brief illness. He was born and raised in Waltham, son of the late Gordon and Jean (Zwicker) Wescott. He lived in Brockton and Plymouth before moving to Grafton 10 years ago.

Mark was a graduate of Waltham High School and UMass Lowell. He worked for Genzyme / Sanofi in Framingham for nearly 20 years where he was the Associate Director for Information Systems for North America. He was a longtime enthusiastic member and usher at Bethlehem Bible Church in West Boylston. An avid photographer, a camera was never far from his hands. His greatest treasure was the time he spent with his family.

He leaves his beloved wife, Kim (Robinson) Wescott; his two step-children, James Mihelidakis of Boston, and Melissa Buddensee and her husband Brent of Bedford, NH; his two grandchildren, Brandelwyn and Arwyn; a sister, Darcie Sunnerberg and her husband Eric of Burlington, and their children Timothy, Melanie and Marisa.

Mark lived every part of his life with passion, but the passion that brought him the most joy, the one that really lit up his eyes and his heart, was just being "Gwawmpa" to his precious grandbabies, Brandelwyn and Arwyn.

All are invited to attend an informal gathering to share memories and celebrate Mark's life on Saturday June 21, from 6-8pm at Mrs. Mack's Bakery, 1393 Grafton St, Worcester. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 22, at Bethlehem Bible Church, 307 Lancaster St., West Boylston. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to David's House, (www.davids-house.org) 461 Mt Support Rd, Lebanon, NH 03766. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Rd., Sterling. To share a memory or leave the family an online condolence, please visit

Truly saddened to hear of your loss. Mark was a sweet, kind, and gentle, soul. He always had kind words and knew how to make people smile for the camera. Although I was not close to him, you could tell within a second of speaking with him, he would do anything for anyone. We will all miss him dearly in our meeting and at Wilson house. He was truly talented with his gift of photography. I pray that God gives you strength, hope, and peace during this sad time. Mark was an angel while he was here and I'm sure he will continue to shine down on you from heaven. God bless.

Mark was one of the sweetest people I have ever worked with. We shared a love of Arizona. I'm sure he is traveling somewhere out West with his laptop close by!

Kim, We are so sorry for your loss. Mark was an amazing man. He was smart, kind, loving and just a good person, but most of all a devoted Christian man. If Mark was your friend, you knew it. He was loyal and true. Our loss is heaven's gain and praise the Lord, we will be reunited with him. We prayed for you this morning that God would wrap you in his everlasting arms and give you the comfort you will need as you grieve the loss of your dear husband. We also rejoice with you that Mark knew Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He was blessed to have found you and those of us who called him friend were also truly blessed to have had him in our lives.
