Matthew Benoit Obituary
WORCESTER - Matthew Joseph Dyer Benoit, 35, of Worcester, died in his home on Sept. 7, 2015.
He was preceded by his maternal grandparents, Joseph J. and Jo-Ann Dyer and his paternal grandfather Joseph Benoit.
He leaves his mother Ann C. Dyer of Worcester, two aunts, Patricia A. Dyer of Mashpee and Elizabeth A. Dyer of Worcester, his loving Godmother Donna Benoit Simarano, his grandmother Patricia Benoit, and his uncle James M. Griffin of Mashpee and Charlton, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Matthew leaves his daughter Gia Catherine whom he cherished dearly, and Scally, Penny and Brutus.
Matthew was a graduate of St. Peter-Marian C.C.H.S., UMass Lowell and worked as an engineer at Mevion Medical.
He had a devout passion for family, art and the care of unfortunate animals, a true crusader for the local animal shelters and rescues.
All that knew "Matt" understood his pride for his Irish heritage. "Slainte."
A Mass will be held Saturday, Sept. 12, at 11 a.m. in St. Peter's Church, 931 Main St., Worcester. Matthew will be brought home to Dingle, Ireland at a further date. There are no calling hours.
Memorial contributions in Matthew's memory may be made to the Gia Catherine Educational fund, C/O Digital Federal Credit Union, 220 Donald Lynch Blvd., Marlborough, MA 01752.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
I worked with Matt during his years as volunteer Emergency Responder at Intel.
As a team leader and a medical responder, Matt was there to help in whatever way he could. He kept people safe and I trusted my life with him as my safety buddy in many responses. A true gentleman who was also intuitive and quite clever.
