Matthew Cote Obituary
SPENCER/BARRE - Matthew David Cote, 30 passed away suddenly on December 20, 2018 after his longtime battle with PTSD. Matthew was born on February 29, 1988, in Manchester New Hampshire. He grew up in Spencer Massachusetts where he attended David Prouty High School and enlisted into the Marine Corps after graduation in 2006. Matthew served proudly as an Infantryman and deployed twice to fight in the War on Terror, once to Iraq, and once to Afghanistan. Matthew was a proud Veteran, an avid Motorcyclist, loved fishing & loved his dog Lyla. He was was a very loyal friend and was the type of person to give anyone the shirt off of his back. He always had a smile, a joke, and a hug readily available to share. Matthew is survived by his father, Jeffrey Cote Sr. of Auburn; mother, Nancy (Piltzecker) Cote of Barre; a brother, Jeffrey Cote Jr of Rochdale; a sister, Chelsea (Cote) Quinonez of Spencer; nieces Angelina, Aliviah and Nataliah, a nephew Jeffrey III; 2 grandmothers, Marion Piltzecker of Charlton and Lucile Kasputis of Auburn; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who who will miss him dearly. Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, December 30, 2018 from 1-4pm in Pillsbury Funeral Home 96 S.Barre Rd. Barre,MA. The funeral will be held on Monday at 11AM in the funeral home. Donations may be made in his name to the Matthew Cote Family Fund, c/o Athol Savings Bank, 560 Summer St. Barre, MA 01005. Since the day you were born I knew I had my lifelong confidant, best friend, partner in crime, MY little brother. I can't fathom what this life will be like without you.
