May the knowledge of knowing that Mercedes is in the loving arms of her creator bring peace to all who knew her and her family. I was saddened to learn of her passing and send my deepest sympathies to her family. As a former receptionist at DCF (Whitinsville), I will always remember her with fondness and in prayer.

There are no words to express the deep lost and sadness I feel for Mercedes. No words! She was so beautiful inside and out. She will always be in my prayers along with my son and grandsons.

Jeff and I are at a loss for words. We were so very sad to hear of Mercedes passing. So very young with so much to live for. Please accept our sincere condolences and know that our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Ramirez and Newkirk families

I did not know Mercedes well but you didn't need to know her well to see that she was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. My heart breaks for her family. Words can not express how sad I am for all of you. I hope you find comfort and strength from each other.

I knew Mercedez through my daughter and what a great gal. Rise above, DCF, her hubby and kids were all so important to her and still are. We had many great times and her energy still exists around us. Thanks Mercedez.

The tragic passing of Mercedes should be a gentle reminder how precious life is. Mercedes was a beautiful person inside and out; her smile would light up any room and her heart was always open to anyone who needed it. Mercedes became a member of RELMA, a group formed at DCF over 20 years ago looking at how we can better work with families as well as staff. Mercedes was truly an inspiration to all in our group. She was a soft spoken women with a strong message around family, co-workers and faith. She will truly be missed. We will keep your family in our prayers.

Mercedes was such a beautiful person both inside and out and truly a great spark of life and love in our world. I cannot recall a time when I ever saw Mercedes without a sweet smile on her face. She graced the lives of so many children and adults alike and we are all so much the better for having known her, even though for not nearly a long enough time.

When I read about a young mother dying and leaving a young family behind, I feel compelled to express my sincere sympathy to all that loved her. God has plans for those left behind especially those too young to remember her caring arms are them. God bless you and strengthen you.

To have met and/or to have known Mercedes was to be touched by an angel! For the last 5 years, I was blessed to have been able to work with her, laugh with her, cry with her and love her. Even as a Christian, I often struggle with God's choice on when he decides to take a loved one. Mercedes flawlessly mastered what God sent her here to do which was to touch lives. Mercedes had a smile that would light up a room and her warm and beautiful personality would make someone feel like a friend almost immediately. She will be missed by so many....her legacy will live on with her children, the Rise Above Foundation and with every person she ever encountered.
