Michael J. Perro

Michael J. Perro, 87, of Pompano Beach Florida, formerly of Worcester, passed away Monday, September 10th in Florida.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife and partner of 62 years, Anna C. (Gentile) Perro; his devoted five children, Michael A. Perro of Oxford and his companion Diana Biancheria, Robert Perro and his wife Paula of Boylston, Anthony Perro of Worcester, John Perro and his wife Cindy of Northbridge, Cheryl Meuse and her husband Tony of Worcester; two brothers, Anthony "Junie" Perro of Worcester and Kenneth Perro of Pompano Beach Florida; a sister, Yolanda R. Damato of Worcester; twelve cherished grandchildren, six adored great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Three brothers, Joseph, Angelo and Richard Perro, two sisters, Rose Glidden and Mary Gerardi and his parents Antonio and Margaret (Altomano) Perro all predeceased him. Michael was born in Worcester, served in the U.S. Army's 61st Armored Cavalry Regiment during World War II, and lived in Worcester before moving to Florida, twenty years ago.

Michael owned and operated Perro's Auto Sales in Service, and M.A.E. Reality many years before retiring. From 1940 through the middle 1960's, Michael owned ITOA Taxi Company in Worcester and Angelo's Restaurant in Westboro.

He was a co-founding member of the Columbus Civic Association. A member of the Massachusetts Auto Dealers Association, the Men's Biscegliese Society. In Florida he was a member of the Pompano Beach Lodge of Elks, and St. Michael's Church also in Florida. Michael was an avid golfer and Homing Pigeon enthusiast.

The funeral will be held Friday, September 14th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Thursday, September 13th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
