Michael Simone Obituary

Michael J. Simone, 86

WORCESTER - Michael J. "Mike" Simone, 86, passed away Wednesday, December 30 at St Vincent Hospital. Mike was born in Worcester, son of Carlo and Angelina (Patruno) Simone, and graduated from Commerce High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and then worked at Norton Company as a fork lift operator before serving other roles during his 37 year career. Mike exuded an endearing quality, and he will be most remembered for his genuine charm and willingness to help others. He enjoyed gardening, yardwork and spending time outdoors. Even at the age of 86, he took pleasure in long walks with his beloved miniature German schnauzer, Bella. He was an active member of the East Side Improvement Club and enjoyed traveling, dancing, watching New England sports teams, playing cards and above all, spending time with his family while savoring a good meal. He leaves behind his longtime companion and best friend, Jeanne Frohock of Worcester with whom he spent the last 26 beautiful years. He also leaves behind his former spouse, Emma (Chiarini) Dagle of Shrewsbury and his loving children; Michael J. Simone, Jr and his wife, Cristiane Amorim of Northborough, Lisa S. Loughlin of Worcester, and Carl W. Simone of Shrewsbury. He also leaves his grandchildren, Raymond K. Loughlin III and Priscilla Sena, as well as his brother, Richard Simone of Worcester, his former son-in-law, Raymond K. Loughlin Jr, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter, Michaele Simone, his brother, Leonard Simone, and his sister, Lucy DiLeo. His best friend of 72 years, John Pedone, passed away just 4 days prior on December 26. It is the family's wish that Mike be cherished as much in Heaven as he was here. Out of an abundance of caution with Covid-19, visiting hours and funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Veterans Inc., 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605. Arrangements in the care of Callahan Fay Caswell Funeral Home.

I am deeply saddened. I will always have fond memories of Mike! He was a wonderful person with a big heart! God Bless you Mike and God Speed! My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. He had a great life and loved everyone. He served our country in Korea and felt it was his civic duty rather than an burden. I will always hear his great stories in my head. May he Rest in Eternal Peace! There are no words that can take away the pain from his passing. However, everyone can take comfort in that he was always a positive light and shall always be remembered that way.
