Nancy C. McDonald, 80

Sturbridge - Nancy C. (Labonte) McDonald, 80, of Park Circle, previously of Dennison Lane, Southbridge, passed away on Tuesday, September 22nd, at home following an illness.

Her husband of 57 years, Laurent E. "Larry" McDonald died in 2010. She leaves two sons, Laurent R. McDonald and his fiancé Celeste Blair of Monson and Glenn J. McDonald and his partner Tina Rollins of Southbridge; three daughters, Kathleen Y. Charette and her husband John of Southington CT, Sharon E. Livernois and her husband Richard of Sturbridge and Laureen N. Benvenuti and her husband Ronald of Southbridge; a brother, Dr. Roger Labonte and his wife Mary of Memphis, TN; two sisters, Helen Comtois of Harrisville, RI and Phyllis Labonte of Southbridge; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by three brothers, William Labonte, Eugene "Sonny" Labonte and Richard Labonte; two sisters, Alice Arsenault and Dorothy Bergeron.

Nancy was born in Uxbridge, the daughter of Eugene and Anna (Bohenke) Labonte.

She worked for 22 years as an assembler at Hydes Manufacturing in Southbridge and later at Schotts fiber optics before retiring many years ago.

She was an active member of St. John Paul II Parish. Nancy enjoyed reading and playing cards with her good friends Roger and Nancy Norowski and John DiBonaventura. She was an avid watcher of the TV shows Survivor and Blue Bloods. Above all Nancy loved her family and treasured all her time spent with them.

Nancy's funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, Sept. 26th, at 11:00 am, in St. Hedwig's Church of the St. John Paul II Parish, 104 Everett St., Southbridge. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central MA Hospice, 191 Pakachoag St. Auburn, MA 01501.

The Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, is directing arrangements.
