Nancy Simpkins Obituary
Worcester - Nancy S. (Schlitter) Simpkins, 70, of Worcester died Thursday, August 20th in the Life Care Center of Auburn after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She leaves two sons, Ian P. Simpkins and his wife, Regina and Travis L. Simpkins and his wife, Janet; a daughter, Darcy M. Gebo and her husband, David all of Worcester; her former husband, Gary Simpkins of Camp Verde, AZ; a brother, Robert Schlitter and his wife, Carol of Naugatuck, CT; a sister, Jean Johnson of Bethany, CT; four grandchildren, Maria, Matthew, Timothy and Andrew and several nieces and nephews.
She was born in New Haven, CT the daughter of Clyde and Florence (Sherbut) Schlitter. Nancy was a daycare provider in her home for many years before becoming a teacher with Pakachoag Acres Day Care Center. Her goal in life was to make a difference in as many kids' lives as possible. She also served as a board member for the Family Health Center of Worcester. Nancy enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading, and spending time with her family, grandchildren, and friends.
Calling hours are Saturday, August 29th from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM in O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service to follow at 2:00 PM Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Family Health Center of Worcester, 26 Queen Street, Worcester, MA 01610.
