Nathan Mayo Obituary

Nathan "Nate" H. Mayo, 85

Bolton - Nathan H (Nate) Mayo, 85 of Bolton Massachusetts, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018, at UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester of complications from heart failure. Nate was a lifelong resident of Bolton. He carried on a rich family tradition of naval service, earned his wings as an officer and official naval aviator and flew off the deck of aircraft carriers. Nate began flying at age 15 and did not stop until his health prevented him from doing so. He worked for 28 years as a design engineer and machinist while still carrying on his love of flying and restoring airplanes. After working with the Collings Foundation in Stow, Nate established Mayocraft, Inc. in 1985 to dedicate himself fully to the design, construction and restoration of vintage aircraft. Nathan Mayo is survived by his wife Christie Mayo, daughters Cathyann Cusimano and Carolyn Bailey, stepdaughter Dale E Bennett-Boyle, stepson Donald G (Maalik) Bennett, brother Kenneth Mayo, 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. A small memorial is scheduled to be held on Saturday, April 7 at 2:00 pm. Open visiting hours, before the memorial, are scheduled from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, both events located at the Bolton Historical Society, 676 Main Street in Bolton.
