Norman Laliberte Obituary
Spencer, MA - Norman Leo Laliberte, Sr., 85, from Spencer, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2015.
He was the son of the late Frank & Oveline (Peloquin) Laliberte. He leaves his wife of 62 years, Dorothy A (Sheehan) Laliberte; four children: son Norman L. Laliberte, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Jefferson; son Kenneth F. Laliberte and his wife Heidi of Spencer; daughter Anne-Marie F. Moran and her husband William of Holden; daughter Cynthia J. Bliss and her husband Ken of West Brookfield; five grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He was pre-deceased by one brother, Ernest Laliberte, and leaves behind two sisters, Jeanne Hanson of Hardwick, Anne Laliberte of Spencer and one brother, Paul Laliberte and his wife Camille, of Worcester.
Norman was a military veteran having served two years in the U.S. Army. He worked 25 years at the former Norton Company (now Saint-Gobain) in Worcester, and upon his retirement spent many years pursuing his passion for auto repairs. Norm was a member of the Spencer Fish & Game club, the Spencer Lion's club and the Spencer Cable Community TV group and always enjoyed working with video equipment. He has donated his body to the UMass Medical School.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, at Mary Queen of the Rosary Church, 60 Maple Street, Spencer, Mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Life Care Center Residents Activity Fund of Auburn, where the staff was very fond of Norman and took great care of him; or to Mary Queen of the Rosary Food Pantry.
