Paul Cappabianca, 64

Worcester - Paul Cappabianca, 64 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 surrounded by his loving family at Rose Monahan Hospice Home after a brief battle with cancer.

Paul was born in Worcester, one of nine children to the late Joseph J. and Julia (Lanotte) Cappabianca, Sr. He was a graduate of North High School and has lived in Worcester all his life. He later received his associates degree in business from Quinsigamond Community College. Paul worked as the manager of Big Bunny Supermarket in Southbridge, MA. for 32 years, a job he loved and enjoyed immensely.

Paul was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Church. He was an avid golfer, loved the New York Yankees, traveling especially to the Caribbean and enjoyed the horse track and the yearly trip to Saratoga Springs. Paul also enjoyed working in his yard and loved spending time with his family.

Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Gina M. (Cariglia) Cappabianca; two sons, Paul J. Cappabianca and his significant other Meredith Merchant and Steven J. Cappabianca all of Worcester; six brothers, Joseph J. Cappabianca Jr. and his wife Donna of West Boylston, John M. Cappabianca and his wife Laura of Murrells Inlet, S.C., Leo Cappabianca and his wife Margaret of Worcester, Michael Cappabianca and his wife Connie of Worcester, twins Anthony Cappabianca and his wife Christine and Mark Cappabianca all of West Boylston; a sister, Juliana Hood and her husband Peter of Gloucester, four sisters-in-law, Jody Tsihlis and her husband Phil of Shrewsbury, Lisa Caliendo and her husband Robert of Littleton, Jill Cariglia of Portland, ME. and Ann Cappabianca of Holden; a grand puppy, Simon; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Paul is predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Pasquale F. and Estelle Cappabianca.

Paul's funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 30, 2021 at 12:00 noon in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd., Worcester. Burial will follow in Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester. A period of calling hours will be held on Friday, April 30th from 9-11:15 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester prior to departure for his funeral mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: UMass Memorial Cancer Center of Excellence, c/o UMass Memorial Office of Philanthropy, 365 Plantation Street, Biotech One, Worcester, MA 01605 and checks made payable to UMass Memorial Health Care. So sorry to hear about Paul's passing. It was much too early but Jesus calls his people when he wants them with him.
I played baseball, bowling at Mt Carmel lanes, Gage Street School yard baseball and schooling through the 12th grade with Paul. He was a really good baseball player and even a greater person.
