Paul J. Corcoran, 76

Lancaster - Paul J. Corcoran, 76, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Elaine (Roy) Corcoran; son, Steven P. Corcoran; daughter, Debra Garreffi; two granddaughters; Jillian Garreffi and Allison Garreffi, all of Clinton; and cousin Ann Marie Yuscavage & husband Joseph of NH.

Paul was born in Worcester to the late Paul & Mary (Melican) Corcoran. He graduated from St. Peter's High School and continued studies at Fitchburg State College, from where he achieved his Bachelor degree and Master's degree in Education. Mr. Corcoran began his lifelong career as an educator with Hudson High School, teaching Industrial Arts for nearly 30 years until his retirement. In addition he served on the faculty at Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School where he taught night classes in both carpentry and woodworking. Mr. Corcoran was the quintessential handyman, an accomplished craftsman and furniture maker. He held membership with the Clinton Lodge of Elks, MA Teachers Association, and MSPCA. He loved animals and looked forward to summers at the beach in Wells, Maine. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 4:30PM on Friday, October 2, 2015 in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, with calling hours prior from 3 until 4:30pm. Burial will later be held privately at St. John's Cemetery in Worcester. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Paul Corcoran to: MSPCA-350 South Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130. To the Corcoran family seems like yesterday I was delivering the Clinton Item to the green house on Mill Street Extension seeing Steven and his sister playing in the driveway your father always had something funny and pleasant to say to make me laugh and usually a pretty good tip too its those nice people that you remember and make a difference in your life many years later you were all blessed to have him in your world and he was a great part of the old neighborhood may he rest in peace God bless all of you Sylvia Knoll

I was one of the first girls to ever take woodshop at HHS (class of 1974) and Mr. Corcoran was so kind and patient, a great teacher, and always smiling. RIP Mr. Corcoran!
