Paulette Giroux Obituary

Paulette A. (Rivers) Giroux, 65, of Sturbridge, died Friday, September 9, 2011, at the UMASS Medical Center in Worcester. She was the wife of Bernard A. Giroux, to whom she was married to for 46 years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Wendy A. Tokarz, and her husband Richard of Southbridge; two sons, Bernard M. Giroux, and Michael S. Giroux, both of Sturbridge; a sister, Helen DeJesus of Oxford; her grandson and pride and joy, Daniel Tokarz, of Southbridge; and many nieces and nephews.

She was born in Worcester on May, 25, 1946 and was the daughter of the late Lester J. and Ida V. (Surprenant) Rivers.

Paulette was a homemaker, and also assisted the elderly for several years in the local area. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and watching QVC looking for bargains. She was also a 1964 graduate of Southbridge High School, and worked at the American Optical Company for a time.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 from the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. at St. Anne's Church, 16 Church Street, Fiskdale. Burial will follow at New Notre Dame Cemetery in Southbridge. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 13th, from 4:00-7:00PM.

So sorry to hear about Paulette. I was the meals on wheels driver on Wednesday's and always enjoyed seeing Paulette. May God bless you during this difficult time.
