Peter J. Turgeon, Sr., 66, of Worcester, passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2010, in Rose Monahan Hospice Residence.

He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of forty-four years, Anne (Flibbert) Turgeon; two sons, Peter J. Turgeon, Jr. and his wife Jean of Vernon Hills, Illinois and Brandon L. Turgeon and his wife Melissa of Clinton; his mother and his second father, Pauline (Bond) and Charles Hauler of Fitchburg; three brothers, David Turgeon in Texas, Thomas Turgeon of Fitchburg and Robert Hauler of Kuwait; two sisters, Sandra French and Linda Brousseau both of Fitchburg; two beloved grandsons, Casey and Jeremy; many nieces and nephews. Peter was predeceased by his sister, Cherie Blackledge. Born in Fitchburg, son of the late Leon Turgeon, he graduated from Fitchburg High School and Central New England College.

Mr. Turgeon was an entrepreneur, having owned several businesses in Worcester, before retiring. He also had worked as The Director of Student Activities for Central New England College.

Peter loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking and doing nature photography. He was a friendly, caring, fun loving person who loved his family and friends; and was known as being a wonderful story teller. He also enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his two grandchildren.

The Turgeon family would like to thank all of the wonderful people at Dana Farber Cancer Institute for their loving care and compassion.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 4, at 1 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, preceded by Calling Hours on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1, in the funeral home.
